Founded in 1894, the construction company Moll made its mark on architectural history through technical innovation and left a lasting legacy with many of Munich’s landmark buildings. Leonhard Moll was quick to embrace modern construction machinery and, by the late 1920s, began producing concrete railway sleepers – a move that marked the start of the company’s industrial diversification and laid the foundation for the Moll Group’s success today.
In early July 2023, during construction works near the Großhesselohe Wehr on the River Isar, remnants of Munich’s former main synagogue were unearthed – a sobering reminder of the systematic exclusion and persecution of Jewish life under National Socialism. The Moll Group took this discovery as an opportunity to once again examine the role of the Leonhard Moll construction company during that period, commissioning an independent research institute to conduct a comprehensive historical study.
After the Second World War, the company contributed to compensation efforts. In 2000, Leonhard Moll AG joined the German business foundation initiative Remembrance, Responsibility and the Future and made payments into the fund for victims of forced labour. Through the sponsorship of scholarships for students from Germany and around the world since 1994, and by supporting the Association for the Promotion of the New Jewish Community and Cultural Centre at St. Jakobsplatz in Munich, we seek to take responsibility for the future. The Moll family has also supported the restoration of the synagogue on Reichenbachstraße with a donation – the synagogue was ceremonially reopened in the summer of 2025.

Leonhard Moll Betonwerke carries out comprehensive safety tests at every location.
Incoming goods inspection: cement, chippings, prestressing steel - everything is inspected in detail. Fresh and hardened concrete tests ensure the correct consistency and strength.
